About myselfMy name is Bruno Amorim and this is my personal webpage.
I am theoretical physicist working in the field of Condensed Matter Theory. I am currently a junior researcher at the Centre of Physics of the Universities of Minho and Porto, at the Department of Physics of the Universidade do Minho. I study the physics of two-dimensional (2D) materials, such as graphene, hexagonal boron nitride and transition metal dichacogenides. I am mainly interested on their electronic, optical and mechanical properties and on their interplay. More recently, I am focusing on the electronic transport and light absorption of structures formed by stacking different 2D materials - the so called van der Waals structures. My general approach is to study fundamental properties of these materials, with the hope of finding possible applications. |
